The Museum of the Battle of Skra was founded by the Municipality of Axioupolis in May 2002 with the strong encouragement and support of the Skra Cultural Association.

 

When visiting the museum one has the opportunity to learn the history of the area from the heirlooms of the Macedonian front of World War I and the Battle of Skra.

 

Documents, photographs, uniforms and numerous other objects revive the victorious Battle of Skra which happened on 17th May 1918. At that time the divisions of National Defence, Archipelagos, Serres and Crete forcefully fought and managed to occupy the positions of the Bulgarian army in Skra.
